SEA’s 21st Individual Nationals took place at Philips Academy Andover, Brooks School, and SquashBusters Lawrence from June 20-22, bringing together 411 players from 21 U.S. member programs and one international partner. SEA students stayed in the dorms, ate in dining halls, and enjoyed the beautiful campuses of Andover and Brooks. Matches also took place at SquashBusters new 8-court facility in Lawrence, which opened in December of 2024. As one of the most anticipated events of the year, this three-day tournament featured an award ceremony recognizing SEA’s award winners and scholarship recipients, a celebration of high school graduates, and a lunch with representatives from private schools.

In the A draws, New York’s CitySquash led the way with three titles, followed by San Diego’s Access Youth Academy, Cincinnati Squash Academy, New York’s StreetSquash with two each, and New Haven’s Squash Haven with one. CitySquash captured the BU17, BU15, and BU13 divisions; Access Youth Academy won the GU15 and GU13; Cincinnati Squash Academy claimed the GU17 and BU11; StreetSquash took home titles in the BU19 and GU11; and Squash Haven secured the GU19 title.

This year was especially meaningful, as Brooks and Andover have been two of SEA’s closest school partners. Their support made it possible for SquashBusters to launch in Lawrence in 2012 and, more recently, open its own facility. Since then, dozens of students, faculty, and alumni have volunteered. To date, seven SEA students have attended Brooks, and 23 have earned scholarships to Andover Summer School.

Highlights from the tournament included a thrilling GU19 final between Squash Haven’s Mya Cardwell and CitySquash’s Stephany Silva, with Mya clinching the title after a dramatic 12–10 win in the final game. In the BU19 division, Mathew Dayle captured his second consecutive title extending his winning streak after capturing the BU17 championship in both 2022 and 2023, showcasing his dominance by not dropping a single game throughout the championship. This year also marked the return of a fan-favorite division—the Under 11s—with a total of 18 students participating.

“Individuals was an amazing experience,” said Sami, a rising 5th grader from Hartford’s Capitol Squash. “I loved staying in the dorms, eating in the dining hall, and meeting new people from all over the country. I’m so excited for next year!”
