Squash Urbano Brasil
Squash Urbano Brasil is a nonprofit youth development organization committed to improving the lives of children from low-income neighborhoods in Sao Paulo through squash and academic enrichment programming. Following the model of the National Urban Squash and Education Association, the program will provide students with squash instruction and academic support geared towards graduating high school and attending college. The program will open its doors to 40 students in 2016, and looks for your support in creating the best program possible for its students.
The founder of Squash Urbano Brasil is Access Youth Academy’s Executive Director Renato Paiva. Originally from Brazil, Renato has worked at Access Youth Academy since 2007. He was recognized by US Squash as Development Coach of the Year (2010) and named Coach of the Year by the U.S. Congressional Caucus on Youth Sports in Washington, D.C. (2011). He has overseen the development of squash on the West Coast, serving as California Junior Squash Team Coach, winning five consecutive urban squash team titles and leading the only urban squash squad to compete in the prestigious U.S. High School Squash Nationals at Yale University, obtaining the #11th ranking in the nation (Access Youth Academy in 2011 and 2012).
