$150 per student

Participants
Number of participants: 40 current urban squashers, priority given to western programs
Ages: Current 6th-11th graders

Selection Criteria and Process
Players should be nominated based exclusively on squash level, enthusiasm for squash, and work ethic in squash training.

Thursday, 1:00 pm: Check-in
3:00 pm: Programs start
Sunday, 2:00 pm: Check out

Staff
The Stanford Squad is overseen by Mark Talbott, Stanford Squash Head Coach. NUSEA will be hiring 1 Squad Director, 1-2 Assistant Directors, and 1 Squad Manager. Please email Sage Ramadge at sage.ramadge@squashandeducation.org to inquire about staff positions.

Sleeping Arrangements
Students will sleep in Stanford dormitories.

Packing List
Students will need to bring sheets, a pillow, a towel, and clothing for 4 days of squash training, sneakers, court shoes, 1-2 racquets, protective eyewear, toiletries and casual clothing.

Food
Students and staff will eat in the Stanford dining hall.

Squash
Squash sessions, of which there will be 1-3 each day, will take place at the 7-court squash center at Stanford University.

Spending Money
Students are required to bring $25 in spending money for evening outings or souvenirs.

Arrival Requirements

  • Stanford: Students are required to arrive in at Stanford no later than 12pm on Wednesday, July 29; students who cannot arrive by 12pm on Wednesday are required to arrive on Tuesday and arrange overnight accommodation.
  • San Francisco Airport: Student flights are required to arrive at SFO no later than 11am on Wednesday, July 29; students who cannot arrive by 11am on Wednesday are required to arrive on Tuesday and arrange overnight accommodation. NUSEA staff and volunteers will pick up at SFO.

Departure Requirements

  • Stanford: Students must being picked up by family members or program staff by 2pm on Sunday August 2.
  • San Francisco Airport: Students are not permitted to have scheduled flights out of SFO before 5pm on Sunday, August 2. NUSEA staff and volunteers will drop off at SFO.
