February 10 – Student Application Guide distributed to programs
February 23 – Citizenship Tour conference call
March 4 – Application materials due to Alana Lerner
April 4 – Programs notified of application decision
April 11 – Participant confirmation deadline
Nomination Information
Individual programs with 20 or more high school students can nominate up to 3 high school students. Individual programs with fewer than 20 high school students cannominate up to 2 high school students.
Eligible Applicants: Highly motivated current 10th – 12th grade students. Current high school seniors should only apply if they are positive that they do not have any precollege summer commitments.
To Nominate: submit the following by email to alana.lerner@squashandeducation.org no later than Friday, March 4.
● Transcript (that includes grades from this school year)
● Program Recommendation (400 words max)
● YouTube Video Essay 2 minutes max* (can be recorded on a cell phone or on a computer webcam, no production value required or expected).The video should address the following prompt:
Leadership to Make a Difference
This November, Americans will elect a new President to lead our country for the next four years. What leadership qualities do you think are important for the future President of the United States? If you had the power, what issue would you have our new President pay attention to in order to make a difference?

Fee
Programs are responsible for a nonrefundable $250/per student fee upon participant selection and confirmation and for all travel costs to and from the Tour.
